Daycare inland Suriname
A new project
During the summer of 2011 the family-replacement home project has been transferred to the inland of Upper Suriname, an area with an even bigger need. Together with the small local churches a daycare center is getting started. The children living in this area are often part of a one-parent family and live under very destitute conditions. It happens a lot that mothers are abandoned by the men who fathered the children.Vision and aim
We want to create a place for the children so as to avoid them neglecting their school, showing unacceptable behaviour or even becoming part of the criminal scene. The aim is to offer the children a breakfast before going to school. During lunch-break they will have a warm meal and can have a rest in our place. After that the local teachers will help them with their homework. This is very necessary as many mothers are illiterate. After that the children can go home to their families.Support us
